I can remember seeing pictures of this car in an automotive history book when I was in college. I gave up ever seeing one in Austin, and then forgot about it. I finally saw one in Toyonaka 6 years later. It's called "tentomushi" here, which means "ladybug". It's one of Japan's most beloved classics, but pretty rare on the streets. Kumiko's father used to have one.
